Text

The State superintendent shall have the power to issue subpenas to compel the production of any pertinent records, books, or documents or the attendance of witnesses in any matter pertaining to his duties under Title 51 of the Revised Statutes and other statutes relating to weights and measures and shall have the power to administer oaths in taking testimony. Subpenas shall be issued under the seal of the State superintendent and shall be served in the same manner as subpenas issued from any court in this State. The failure of any person to obey a subpena may result in the State superintendent's applying to the Superior Court for appropriate relief. L. 1986, c. 167, s. 21, eff. Dec. 3, 1986.
