Upon submitting satisfactory evidence of eligibility for any practicing license, an applicant shall submit to the board a fee as required by the board. The applicant then shall be scheduled to sit for the examination conducted by the board in the practice in which he is seeking a practicing license. Upon scheduling, he shall be issued a temporary permit to engage in the practice for which the applicant is seeking a license. The permit shall remain valid for a period of no more than 120 days and shall expire upon receipt of a newly issued license by the licensee. Only one temporary permit shall be issued to an applicant. No temporary permit shall be issued to applicants awaiting scheduling of and results from the teacher examination. L.1984, c. 205, s. 26.
