Text

Every person of full age who is a resident of, and domiciled without interruption in any county for five years, excluding any time spent by such person in a charitable or correctional institution, shall be deemed settled in such county and shall so remain until he has gained a like settlement in some other county, or has removed from this state and remained therefrom continuously for one year, or has gained a legal settlement elsewhere in this state. A person who has removed from this state for more than one year shall not retain his settlement in any county in this state.
