If any clause, sentence, paragraph, section or part of this act shall be adjudged by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional, invalid or inoperative, in whole or in part, such judgment shall not affect, impair or invalidate the remainder thereof, but shall be confined in its operation to the clause, sentence, paragraph, section or part thereof directly involved in the controversy in which such judgment shall have been rendered. To the extent that any provision of this act shall not have been adjudged unconstitutional, invalid or inoperative, such provision shall be enforced and effectuated. L.1948, c. 110, p. 612, s. 33.
