40A:9-47. The county medical examiner of any county or an intercounty medical examiner may, subject to the approval of the board or boards of chosen freeholders, as applicable, appoint one or more assistant county or intercounty medical examiners to operate under their direction and supervision in accordance with the provisions of P.L.2018, c.62 (C.26:6B-1 et al.), and as prescribed by regulation of the Chief State Medical Examiner. amended 2018, c.62, s.38.
