Text
The governing body of any municipality may grant temporary leave of absence, with pay, to any officer or employee receiving a fixed annual salary, wage or compensation. Such leaves of absence shall not exceed 3 months at any one time. Where it is necessary to employ a substitute to perform the duties of such officer or employee during his absence, the amount of the compensation paid the substitute shall be deducted from the salary, wage or compensation of such officer or employee.
