Immediately upon the installation of the government of the consolidated municipality, the officers having custody of the funds of the participating municipalities shall deliver all funds in their possession into the custody of the proper fiscal officer of the consolidated municipality, who shall acknowledge delivery by giving his receipt therefor. The mayor or other chief executive officer of the consolidated municipality shall supervise and direct the transfer of all personal property, books, papers, vouchers, or other documents belonging to the participating municipalities, to the proper officers of the new government.
