§ 40:41A-60 — Elected officers; governing body; definition; exercise of administrative or executive functions by county supervisor

a. Each county operating under this article shall be governed by an elected board of freeholders and an elected county supervisor and by such other officers and employees as may be duly appointed pursuant to this article, general law, or ordinance. b. In each county operating under this article, the term "governing body" of the county shall be construed to include the board of freeholders and the county supervisor. For the purpose of the construction of all other applicable statutes, any and all administrative or executive functions heretofore assigned by general law to the board of freeholders shall be exercised by the county supervisor, and any and all legislative and investigative functions heretofore assigned by general law to the board of freeholders shall be exercised by the board, all in accordance with the separation of powers provided for in section 86 of the act of which this act is amendatory (C. 40:41A-86).
