Candidates for the charter study commission shall be persons who were registered voters of the county as of the date of the most recent preceding general election. They may be nominated by petition signed by at least 200 registered voters. Said petition shall be filed not less than 40 days before the date of the election.

a.Each nominating petition shall set forth the name, place of residence, and post office address of the candidate thereby nominated, that the nomination is for the office of charter study commissioner and that the petitioners are legally qualified to vote for such candidate. Every voter signing a nominating petition shall add to his signature, his place of residence, post office address and street number, if any. No voter shall sign petitions for more than nine candidate
