§ 40:41A-15 — Date of charter referendum
New Jersey·Title 40 MUNICIPALITIES AND COUNTIES
If the charter study commission shall have recommended the adoption of one of the optional forms of government authorized by articles 3 to 6 inclusive, of this act, the county clerk shall cause a referendum question conforming with the requirements of section 16 to be placed upon the ballot at such time and in such form as the commission shall in its report specify. The commission may specify that the question be submitted at the general election occurring not less than 60 days next following the filing of the commission's report with the county clerk, or, if there be no general election within 120 days next following the filing of its report, then at a special election occurring not less than 60 days or more than 120 days next following such filing of the report.
