Text
The governing body of any municipality may make, amend, repeal and enforce ordinances to compel the owner of certain real property on which there has been constructed any private street, highway, lane, alley or other roadway which is open to the public or to which the public is invited, to remove all snow and ice from such street, highway, lane, alley or other roadway within 12 hours of daylight after the same shall fall or be formed thereon. Any such ordinance may provide for the imposition of penalties for violation of same, and may provide for the removal of such snow or ice by the municipality where the owner of any such street, highway, lane, alley or other roadway shall fail to remove the same as provided in the ordinance.
