§ 4:7-34 — Inspection of fruit bearing trees or plants at request of grower

A farmer, horticulturist or other grower of fruits within this state may request an examination of his trees or other fruit bearing plants, to determine whether or not they are infested by any dangerously injurious insect pest and the department shall examine the trees or other fruit bearing plants with all convenient dispatch. The department shall inform the owner as to the best methods of treating trees or plants, which are found to be so infested, in order that they may be preserved if possible and the spread of the insects checked. This section shall apply only to such insects as may endanger the life of the infested trees or plants and may spread from such as are already infested to others in their vicinity.
