26.
a.The Director of the Division of Motor Vehicles may issue temporary registration credentials for any vehicle or combination of vehicles that could be lawfully operated in the jurisdiction if full registration or apportioned registration were obtained.
b.A person desiring a temporary registration certificate shall make application therefor on forms provided by the division. Every application shall be accompanied by the fee established by regulation.
c.The temporary registration shall be carried in the cab of the vehicle for which the permit is issued and shall not be valid for more than 72 hours. L.1995,c.157,s.26.
