Whenever an employer or his insurance carrier involved in the claim under chapter fifteen of Title 34 of the Revised Statutes shall receive written notice from the Division of Employment Security of the New Jersey Department of Labor and Industry that disability benefits have been paid to an employee as a result of an accident or sickness for which the said employee may be entitled to benefits under chapter fifteen of Title 34 of the Revised Statutes, such employer or his insurance carrier, as the case may be, shall, before making any payment on account of any pending award, order, or settlement under said chapter fifteen of Title 34 of the Revised Statutes, inquire of the employee as to whether or not he has received disability benefits by reason of the same accident or sickness and advis
