Text

1.The Department of Human Services shall have the authority to collect all moneys due to the State for services, assistance, relief or care provided by the State through the department from the recipients thereof or from the persons legally responsible therefor pursuant to any agreement with the State or pursuant to any obligation established by law or by contract. The Attorney General shall provide all legal assistance necessary and proper to collect the moneys due to the State and shall have all the remedies and may take all of the proceedings for the collection thereof which may be had or taken for or upon the recovery of a judgment in a civil action and may institute and maintain any action or proceeding in the courts necessary therefor.
