Text

It is hereby declared to be the policy of the State that no child shall be denied access to any medical assistance which may prolong his or her life because of inability to pay the cost thereof. The Legislature hereby finds that there are cases where a child's illness has been diagnosed as terminal and all remedies and finances have been exhausted, and only by continued medical and financial assistance could the child's life be prolonged. It is, therefore, declared to be the policy of the State that, in such cases, the State shall provide assistance in the case of medical expenses. L.1972, c. 193, s. 2, eff. Dec. 20, 1972.
