No person shall go into the woods or fields at any time with a gun or firearm when under the influence of a drug or intoxicating liquor, under a penalty of fifty dollars ($50.00) for each offense. Upon the conviction of a person for violating this section, the license to hunt and fish of that person issued to him in accordance with article one of chapter three of this Title (s. 23:3-1 et seq.), shall become void, and the municipal court or other court before which the conviction is had, shall take the license from the person so convicted, mark it "revoked" and send it to the board. If the conviction is reversed on appeal the license shall be restored to the defendant.
