18A:17-6. The secretary shall, before entering upon the duties of his office, give bond to the board, not less than $2,000.00, in an amount and with surety to be approved by the board, conditioned for the faithful performance of the duties of his office. In a district which does not have a treasurer of school moneys, if the secretary is an officer of the municipality constituting the district, and the bond given by the officer for the faithful performance of the municipal duties covers and secures the faithful performance of the duties as secretary, and a certificate of coverage with sufficient amounts of coverage for both the municipal and board position is certified to the board, the secretary shall not be required to give additional bond.
