A board of education of any district may, itself or under contract, install, equip, supply and operate cafeterias or other agencies for dispensing food to public school pupils without profit to the district and may purchase food services and supplies therefor subject to the provisions of N.J.S. 18A:18A-6 and pursuant to rules and regulations of the State board, without advertisement for bids. L.1967, c.271; amended by L. 1985, c. 527, s. 2, eff. Jan. 21, 1986.
