The Commissioner of Insurance may order insurers writing automobile insurance in this State to implement any procedure or practice that he deems necessary to more effectively control the cost of providing personal injury protection coverage to insureds in this State, including procedures or practices to increase the efficiency of the insurers or to prevent fraudulent practices by the insured, insurers, providers of services or equipment, or others. L.1990,c.8,s.51.
