Text
The local governing body of any municipality in which the whole or a part of a dam is located, if it has reason to believe the dam may be in disrepair, may petition the department for an investigation to determine whether such dam is in disrepair. The local governing body shall so petition the department when requested to do so by 25 taxpayers of such municipality.
