Text
The city councils of any city shall have the power to pass an ordinance which shall provide that the chief, or any deputy chief, of the fire department of such city shall be appointed for an indefinite period of time, that no person shall be appointed to such office except one technically qualified by training or experience, and that the appointee shall be removed only for just cause and after hearing with reasonable notice in writing of the charges against the appointee.
