A bidder's bond must be made payable to the district and conditioned that if the principal's
bid is accepted and the contract for the work of improvement awarded to the bidder, the bidder,
within ten days after the acceptance of the bid, or within such further time as the board grants,
will enter into and execute a contract bond in a sum equal to the amount of the bid, and a
contract in writing to and with the district well and faithfully to perform and complete the work for
which the bid was accepted, in accordance with the plans and specifications and the terms of
the bid and within the time required by the terms of the contract, and that the bidder will pay for
all the labor and materials used in such work. The bond must be for the benefit of the district.
