Text
If a district is dissolved, the department of water resources shall provide for the disposition
of any property owned by the district and for the apportionment of the proceeds and any other
moneys belonging to the district to an adjoining district. If there is no adjoining district, the
department shall apportion and dispose of the property and proceeds to the general fund of
each county in the district in proportion to the county's area in the district. Any pledge or lien
given with respect to any outstanding bonds of the district remains and any property so
encumbered must be handled in conformity with the bond resolution or trust indenture. Money,
property, or the proceeds from property may not be distributed to any private interests.
