The board of directors of the district shall meet at its usual place of meeting within thirty
days after each election and canvass the returns. If all the returns have not been received, the
canvass shall be postponed from day to day until all the returns have been received. The
canvass shall be made in public and by opening the returns and ascertaining the vote for each
person voted for, and declaring the result thereof, and also ascertaining the vote for and against
each and every question or proposition voted upon, and declaring the result thereof.
