Text
The department of water resources may authorize emergency or temporary use of water for
periods not to exceed twelve months if the department determines the use will not be to the
detriment of existing rights. The department shall establish by rule a separate procedure for
processing applications for emergency or temporary use. Prescriptive and other rights to the
use of water may not be acquired by use of water as authorized in this section.
