For purposes of education and community outreach and to promote public trust, the director of the department of corrections and rehabilitation may permit a nonmember of the department of corrections and rehabilitation to participate in job shadowing activities, including:
1.Participating in a ride-along program with a member of the department of corrections
and rehabilitation while on duty;
2.Discharging a firearm owned and used by the department of corrections and
rehabilitation while at a training facility and under the supervision of a member of the
department of corrections and rehabilitation; and
3.Shadowing any member of the department of corrections and rehabilitation while on
duty.
