Text
1.The governor shall appoint the commissioner of the department who shall serve at the
pleasure of the governor. The commissioner shall take the oath of office required of
civil officers by section 44-01-05. The commissioner is entitled to receive
compensation in the amount established by the governor within the limits of legislative
appropriations.
2.The commissioner of the department may appoint a deputy commissioner.
3.The commissioner of the department may delegate any of the commissioner's
authority as the commissioner determines necessary.
