Text
Protest.
The resolution of the governing body adopting any street map provided for in section
40-48-28 shall provide that it shall not become effective for forty days, and shall provide further
that it shall not become effective until a notice of the adoption of such resolution has been
published once each week for four successive weeks in the official newspaper of the city as
provided by section 40-01-09. The resolution and the notice shall state a time within which the
owners of property lying within or immediately adjoining the lines of the proposed future street
opening or widening, or between any future street line and the street nearest the public highway
may protest in writing against the adoption of the future street lines.
