Text
There is hereby established a department of veterans' affairs under the supervision and
control of a commissioner known as commissioner of veterans' affairs, hereinafter referred to as
the commissioner. The commissioner must be a bona fide resident of the state, and must qualify
as a veteran as defined in section 37-01-40. The commissioner shall serve at the pleasure of
the governor.
