§ 35-27-20 — Collateral security does not impair lien - Exception
The taking of collateral or other security for an indebtedness for which a lien might be
claimed under the provisions of this chapter in no way impairs the right to the lien unless the
security, by express agreement, is given and received in lieu of the lien.
