Except as otherwise provided in subsections 2 through 4 of section 30.1-04-18, if a
parent-child relationship exists or is established under sections 30.1-04-14 through 30.1-04-20,
the parent is a parent of the child and the child is a child of the parent for purposes of intestate
succession.
