policies - Limitations. An insurer or health service corporation may not issue or renew any individual or group accident and health insurance policy that excludes or reduces the benefits payable or services to be rendered to or on behalf of any insured because benefits have been paid or are also payable under any individually underwritten and individually issued contract or plan of insurance which provides exclusively for specific disease, hospital indemnity, and other limited benefits, irrespective of the mode or channel of premium payment, with or without payroll deduction, to the insurer and regardless of any reduction in the premium by virtue of the insured's membership in any organization or of the insured's status as an employee.
