§ 26.1-36-07 — Health insurance coverage for newborn and adopted children - Scope of coverage - Notification of birth or adoption
coverage - Notification of birth or adoption.
1.All individual and group health insurance policies providing coverage on an
expense-incurred basis and individual and group service or indemnity type contracts
issued by a nonprofit corporation which provide coverage for a family member of the
insured or subscriber must, as to the family members' coverage, also provide that the
health insurance benefits applicable for children are payable with respect to a newly
born child of the insured or subscriber from the moment of birth and are also payable
from the date of physical placement by a licensed child placement agency or by the
birth parent pursuant to chapter 14-15.1 with respect to an adopted child.
