Text
A person not licensed as an insurance producer or surplus lines insurance producer who
sells, solicits, or negotiates an insurance policy on behalf of an insurer is an insurance producer
within the intent of this chapter and is liable for all the duties, requirements, liabilities, and
penalties to which an insurance producer of the insurer is subject. An insurer accepting
business from an unlicensed person through any of its officers, insurance producers, or
employees thereby acknowledges that person as an insurance producer acting on its behalf in
the transaction.
