§ 26.1-16-05 — Articles of incorporation - Contents

Persons proposing to form a benevolent society under this chapter shall subscribe and
acknowledge articles of incorporation specifying:
1. The name of the society, which must include the words "benevolent society".
2. The purpose for which the society is to be formed.
3. A full and clear definition of the plan under which the society proposes to do business.
4. The time and place of holding meetings of the members of the society.
5. The location of the society's principal office, which must be within this state.
6. The date for the commencement and for the termination of the fiscal year of the
society.
7. The term for which the society is to be incorporated, which term may not exceed thirty
years.
8. The number of directors, not less than five nor more than nine, all of whom must be
residents of this state.
9. The names and addresses of the directors selected to serve until the first meeting of
the members of the society.
