insurance company. The commissioner may examine the books, papers, securities, and business of any domestic life insurance company at any time, or may authorize any other suitable person to make the examination. The commissioner, or person authorized to make an examination, may examine under oath any officer or agent of the company, or any other person, relative to the business and management of the company. If upon the examination the commissioner is of the opinion that the company is insolvent or that its condition is such as to render a further continuance of its business hazardous, the commissioner may require the company to deposit in the commissioner's office all securities specified in any list filed pursuant to section 26.1-05-23 and not deposited.
