The department may request appropriations and resources sufficient to allow for
maintenance of the life skills and transition center's accreditation by the accreditation council on
services for people with developmental disabilities or certification by the centers for Medicare
and Medicaid services or, if deemed necessary, by similar accrediting and certifying
organizations and agencies possessing standards applicable to an individual with a
developmental disability and disciplines needed to provide quality services to individuals served.
