Text
1.The department of health and human services may, by regulation and upon such
conditions as it may prescribe to assure compliance with the purposes of this chapter,
provide for the extension of the periods of time prescribed in sections 23-02.1-19,
23-02.1-20, and 23-02.1-21 for the filing of death records, fetal death records, medical
certification of death, and for the obtaining of final disposition-transit permits in cases
in which compliance with the applicable prescribed period would result in undue
hardship.
2.Regulations of the department of health and human services may provide for the
issuance of a final disposition-transit permit under section 23-02.1-21 before the filing
of a record of death or fetal death upon conditions designed to assure compliance with
