§ 16.1-15-21 — Primary election statement prepared by county canvassing board - Contents
Contents. The county canvassing board, upon canvassing the returns of a primary election, shall prepare an abstract signed by the members of the board and filed in the office of the county auditor. A separate abstract of the votes cast must be transmitted to the secretary of state according to reporting instructions specified by the secretary of state. The abstract filed in the office of the county auditor must contain all of the following:
1.The names of all candidates voted for at the primary election with the number of votes
received by each and for what office. The abstract must be made separately for each
political party or principle.
2.The names of the individuals or candidates of each political party or principle who
receive the highest number of votes for the respective offices.
