§ 11-15-24 — Transportation of prisoner
The sheriff of each county shall conduct to the penitentiary all persons convicted in the
county and sentenced to be confined in the penitentiary as soon as may be after conviction. The
sheriff may conduct patients to the state hospital when directed to do so by the district court.
