In counties adopting any form of county managership, the office of public administrator is
abolished. The county manager shall perform the functions of that office in counties adopting a
short form of county managership, and in counties adopting a county manager form of
government, by a suitable person appointed by the presiding judge of the judicial district in
which the county is located, after consultation with the judges of the judicial district. Any person
so appointed is entitled to receive compensation at the rate allowed the administrator of an
estate.
