In discharging the attorney general's responsibilities under sections 10-33-144 through 10-33-149, and in connection with the public hearing provided for in section 10-33-146, the attorney general may conduct investigations, issue subpoenas to any person directly related to the proposed agreement or transaction, and conduct hearings in aid of an investigation or inquiry.
