§ 86B-50 — Purpose

North Carolina·Ch. 86B Barber and Electrolysis Practice Act·Art. 3 Electrolysis
The purpose of this Article is to ensure minimum standards of competency, to protect the public from misrepresentation of status by persons who hold themselves out to be "licensed electrologists" or "licensed laser hair practitioners" and to provide the public with safe care by the mandatory licensing of electrologists and laser hair practitioners.
