19-6-901 . Survivorship benefits -- employment-related death.

(1)If the board finds that a member died as a direct and proximate result of injury received in the course of the member's service, a survivorship benefit must be paid to the member's surviving spouse or dependent child in the same manner as provided for in 19-6-505 (2) through (4).
(2)The retirement benefit must equal 50% of the highest average compensation of the member.
