61-3-319 . Registration of custom-built motorcycle -- exemptions.

(1)Upon original registration of a custom-built motorcycle, the owner of the custom-built motorcycle shall:
(a)pay the fees required in 61-3-321 , plus an additional $10 fee, to be deposited in the state general fund;
(b)certify, in writing, that the motorcycle is:
(i)not used for general transportation purposes; and
(ii)is equipped as required by the state law in effect in the year of manufacture of the motorcycle, as determined under 61-3-214 .
(2)A custom-built motorcycle registered under this section is exempt from vehicle equipment requirements under chapter 9 of this title unless the equipment was required under state law in the year of manufacture of the motorcycle, as listed on the registration receipt for the
