20-25-321 . Security department members -- appointment -- campus security officer powers.

(1)The regents of the Montana university system may appoint one or more persons to be members of security departments at each unit of the university system. Persons who are qualified under 7-32-303 to be campus security officers and who are employed and compensated by a security department as campus security officers are peace officers and may exercise their authority:
(a)upon the campuses of the Montana university system and, for campus-related activities, an area within 1 mile of the exterior boundaries of each campus;
(b)in or about other grounds or properties owned, operated, controlled, or administered by the regents or any unit of the Montana university system; and
(c)if an agreement is reac
