33-22-921 . Discontinuance or nonrenewal -- alternate policy or certificate -- same issuer.
(1)If an issuer discontinues or does not renew a medicare supplement policy product or certificate and offers an alternate medicare supplement policy or certificate to its insureds within this state, it may not deny benefits under the replacing policy or certificate to an insured who receives treatment for a condition that was a covered expense under the replaced policy or certificate and is a covered expense under the replacing policy or certificate if the insured enrolls in and pays the premium for the replacing policy or certificate within 31 days after the termination of the replaced policy or certificate.
