7-2-2713 . Effect of election results.

(1)If at the election a majority of the votes cast in the county in which the petition for abandonment was filed are cast in favor of the abandonment and abolishment of the county and if a majority of the votes in the county designated in the petition as the county to which the territory of the abandoned county shall be attached are cast in favor of attachment, then:
(a)(i) the organization and the political and corporate existence of the county in which the petition for abandonment was filed terminate;
(ii)the county is abandoned, abolished, and disincorporated and ceases to exist; and
(iii)except as provided in subsection (2) of this section, its territory is attached to and becomes a part of the counties designated in the resolution adopted und
