§ 7-2-2422 — Certification Of List Of Names

7-2-2422 . Certification of list of names.

(1)The clerk of the district court of the county from which a new county is segregated or, if a new county is segregated from two or more counties, the clerks of district court of each of the counties shall take the names of persons that appear upon the jury list for the year, which may have been certified to the clerk or clerks of district court by the jury commission or commissions of the respective county or counties to be residents of the territory embraced in the new county, and shall certify the names to the clerk of the district court of the new county.

(2)The names constitute the jury list for the new county for the year.

(3) The new list must be made and certified by the clerk or clerks of district court of the existing county or counties as soon after the creation of the new county as may be practicable and in any event within 5 days after a request for the list is made by the clerk of the district court of the new county.
